What is tear resistant material?
When you browse tactical items, you'll often come across the word "tear resistant," whether they're made of NyCo or PolyCo fabric.
Ripstop is the name of a textile fiber weaving technique. Most people think this knitting has something to do with preventing tears from happening. It didn't. Its job is to stop the cracks from spreading once they start.
In technical terms, tear resistance prevents tearing from completely destroying the fabric's structure. A tear may begin, but it does not extend a few millimeters beyond the braided thick-reinforced yarn.
